Baton Rouge Zoo Trip

It's official, Gavin loovvees animals! He was giggling at the giraffes, learning new moves from the monkeys, feeding the fish, and trying to stick his hands in all the cages. lol. It was a nice, cool, sunny day just perfect for a stroll around the zoo. My parents, Terri and Steve, came with us and we had a blast!

Bath Time!

Now that he's older he loves playing with his toys and splashing around in the bath tub!! We enjoy it too! Especially when we spike his hair in to a mohawk! lol

Lil Mankins is 8 months old!

Being 8 months old is sooo tiring!
Gavin can now sit up by himself, rollover both ways, feed himself finger foods, and can almost pull himself up to standing by himself!! We are soo proud of our little man, but it's heartbreaking thinking of all the time that has gone already. Just Bittersweet.

Time for sippy cup!

Wasn't sure how Gavin would react to the Sippy Cup, but he will be 6 months tomorrow and is able to drink juice. So I started him last night. He loved the Apple Juice, and actually held his own cup! We're so proud, he's a Big Boy!! lol

We went to my parents' house for a barbecue and Michael's parents came too! You could tell that Michael was really excited to have his first father's day with our whole family.

Solids!

My Big Man is on Cereal now!! We started him about a week ago on rice cereal. It took him a couple of weeks to get in to the swing of things. Once we changed him to Oatmeal, he gets very excited about Breakfast and Dinner time!

His first meal of Oatmeal, he ate the entire bowl, then began sucking off the extra oatmeal on his hands and arms. When he ran out he stuck his tongue out and began licking the sides of his cheeks! (Apparently he likes Oatmeal.hehe)

1st Easter!!!

Gavin had his very first Easter yesterday!!! We spent the night at my parents house so we could do Easter moring and easter bunny at their house. He has the Velveteen Rabbit book and stuffed animal, as well as, the Kickin Boppin Gym from Maw-Maw's Easter Bunny. Mommy and Daddy's Easter Bunny brought him The Little People's 50th Annv cd, a touch-and-feel Easter Bunny book, and a chime elephant toy that hangs from his carrier. I have never seen him smile as much as he did when he played with the kickin boppin gym! He had a great time and so did we!!

Two Weekends, Two Zoos

We went to two different zoos in two consecutive weekends. Which were both a nice and expensive nap for Gavin! lol* Michael and I enjoyed ourselves, and even invited his parents along to the Baton Rouge Zoo. The weekend after that we had a "family" day where the three of us went to the The Audubon Zoo in New Orleans which had a really awesome dinosaur exhibit. Again, he slept most of the time! lol

Gavin's first 2 months

Gavin was born January 22, 2009 at 8:23am; he was 6lbs 8oz and 19.5 inches. Daddy, Michael, and I, Kim, have never felt more proud, devoted, excited, overwhelmed, exhausted, and as full of Joy as we are now. ;-)

We received the great news of my pregnancy June 7, 2008 whenI tested for really no reason at all. Michael and I had been trying for 2 years prior to this day ( naturally, with obstetrician's help and finally with a reproductive endocrinologist's help) after a combination of HSG procedure, 50mg Clomid and 1000mg Metformin (most of all prayer and a little luck) we were thankfully blessed with a big fat positive!
